This
self-assessment test is a useful way to
calculate your likely score in the Skilled
Migration Points test. It is necessarily
a simplification of the relevant Migration
Regulations, and does not take into consideration
whether you meet the requirements for
skills assessment in your nominated occupation.
If you are an international student who
was studying in Australia on or before
31 March 2003, but have not studied in
Australia for 2 years or more, then you
should be using the old version of the
skilled migration points test which was
in effect prior to 1 July 2003. |

Note
for Tradespersons: Even if you have
considerable work experience in a trade,
DIMIA may not consider your work experience
prior to the TRA's "deeming date"
to be skilled work experience. Please
contact us for further advice on this
issue.
Note
that if you have relatives living in
Australia, you may qualify for the Skilled
Designated Area Sponsored Category.
This category would not require you
to pass the points test, and the range
of relatives who can sponsor you is
wider than the normal General Skilled
Migration category.
Skilled
migration can be complex, so we recommend
that you contact us to check your likely
eligibility for skilled migration before
you proceed with an application.
In
particular, each skills assessing authority
has different criteria in determining
whether your skills are suitable for
migration to Australia. We are familiar
with the procedures of the main skills
assessing authorities, and would be
happy to advise you further as to your
best course of action. We can also prepare
and lodge applications for skilled migration
on behalf of clients.
If
you would like us to check your likely
eligibility for skilled migration or
if you would like us to assist you with
your application, please send us an
email inquiry. We will then provide
you with a comprehensive preliminary
assessment of your likely eligibility
for skilled migration, and can discuss
with you the best way to proceed with
your application.
